New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s plan to get rid of Specialized High School Admission Test (SHSAT), which is the sole criterion for admissions to eight of the city’s elite public high schools, has been heatedly discussed in this year’s mid-term. Asian voters, especially Chinese, are worried the plan would affect their kids’ future.

Marching hand-in-hand women came together in solidarity in Washington Square Park on November 3rd 2018 to showcase their feminist artwork and encourage participation in the upcoming Midterm elections. They marched with pride from Washington Square Park to the Nancy Hoffman Gallery where the parades organizer Michele Pred had a feminist art exhibit on showcase. They gathered and celebrated the rising number of women running for office in the predicted year of the woman, attributing their parade with the hashtag #neverthelesswevote.
For Muslim women, “they have been at the forefront of politics since 2016,” said Widad. They voted, they played a leading role in engaging the whole Muslim community to participate in the election, and they even ran for office.
Walkout to Vote organized rallied across the country, so that thousands of students could rally in the streets to promote the vote on the midterm elections. In New York City, the rally took place at Union Square.
One week before the midterm elections, a group of Chinese Americans protested against marijuana legalization in front of city hall, and claimed they would only vote for politicians who keep marijuana away from their community. Although the politicians favored by
